NOTES ON THIS VINYL RECORD:

At the end of the 70s and during the 80s a bunch of groups conformed by teenager boys most of them arrived to Mexico from all latin america and some others (like my favorite one Parchis) from Spain... these kids were a totaly revolution in the music field for children and other like "Los Chicos" were more targeted for teenager girls... From these groups came out the today singers like Ricky Martin, Paulina Rubio, Thalia, and in this case Chayanne who was the leading voice of Los Chicos.

Maybe you're thinking what the hell are they doing here? well i'll tell you this record was released in 1983 for some reason i feel it was released earlier but thats what the record has printed 1983 but they're here cause most of the tracks are Pure Disco tracks in spanish!! at that time i didn't hear it like disco cause most of the music i was hearing was in the same mood and style but today when we found this record we got fairly in our minds the music of "Puerto Rico" that was the song that these boys sang at the kids contest "America esta es tu cancion" getting the first place.

Here you can find the main track "Puerto Rico" a Disco adaptation of a classic song but unfortunately i havent found which one is the original version cause theré's a lot of songs on the net called "Puerto Rico" if by any chance you can hear these disco version you wont be disapointed it is almost at the same level of disco songs by Bebu Silvetti or something like that with wonderful violins, drums and trumpets, maybe the voice of the kids are not perfect or may sound anoying but the music it is just great for dance, the in the same side, track number 2 we found "Pensando en ti" when i hear this song after 24 years sounded very familiar... it is a cover of an english song, i read at the credits and it is a song wrote by Lindsey Buckingham, desperately try to find out which song was that one, finally discovered that the song is "Second hand news" by Fleetwood Mac but sadly that is not a disco song... so this version like "Puerto Rico" it is great to dance too...

Cover after cover we got here too "Sera porque te amo" originally recorded by Richi e Povery and Italian duet that also recorded in spanish, this version is good but not enterely for dance... on the B side Mama Mia cover open the side, i mentioned in the last Abba record uploaded that many groups make covers of Abba including songs they never recorded in spanish well they recorded Mamma Mia in spanish but this one has a completely diferent lyrics and also it is too Disco, another cover is "Pues a bailar" credited to Prince... i couldn't find which song is this one but it is funny and proper cover for kids, the record finish with a "reprise" of "Puerto Rico" called "Puerto Rico II" to close the presentation of these boys in their first album, after this one they released another albums but i have no idea if they were a hit or not, but this one now it is part of the weekends party songs :) list :)
