YOUR REVIEWS & COMMENTS

Sounds good, but it really wasn't. I have it to this day, but really don't care, never did. A record that doesn't make you care SUCKS!! A 4 on my scale from 1-10.

The Letter was a standard issue Bobby Orlando production; I still like it but it is dated. Magnifique was a song I personally still love. (I'll admit: where you were in life when you 1st hear something will color your perception of it.) A friend said the sound reminded him of the circus. I always thought it had a twisted energy to it. As I've said in earlier posts, this was another song that was part of the sound of the Parade Disco in New Orleans in the 80's.
Beyond all of that, Magnifique was an example of a Disconet remix that completely re-worked the song. The original (on Siamese and Ariola records as I recall) was less filtered and seemed disjointed. The remix reworks the intro, gives a distinct break in the middle, and almost completely deletes the vocals. All with reel-to-reels of the original spliced together as this was WAY before digital.

But it is that format of the re-mix that I didn't enjoy. I preferred to take the originals, and CREATE my own version LIVE. It was always better that way, gave it originality and let the deejay get creative. I never disliked these songs, just the DISCONET remix of them.
