I already mention that i love "black music" and also said that once, i got one record just for its cover... well this is a similar story, when i found this record by Instant Funk barely in my mind got the name of the group, but as soon as i saw the cover didn't doubted in buy it, i guess in my unconcious there was the cover image that maybe once in my life saw it with the corner of one eye years ago...
I arrived home and soon the record was sppining in the turntable with the equalizer of the stereo arranged as a "V" like the virgin records logo... a lot of bass and clear highs... yes "instantly" the melody came back to my mind and yes i knew the song (I got my mind made up) and as always my heart started to beat at the rythm of the bass so i open the closet (literally) and pulled back my favorite "red wine polyester" bell bottom pants and got in to them, tumble by the floor putted my dancing shoes, run to the fridge and took a "cold red TKT" came back as a ray of light to the room and lighted up a B&H cigar (menthol light :))and suddenly i was in a "quantum leap" in to the 70s dancing in a 2 square meters space submerged in this wonderful black music... i guess only one thing was missing...yes an "afro wig" well so sad hard to find here but my 12" long hair took its place floating along with me...
How Strange it is that even that i was a child when this precious music was on fashion then, i still feeling that i should live the instant as adult, hearing this record in that ocasion my beliefs were threaten by the idea that maybe i died right in the sixties and my soul took possesion of that child that used to cry a lot like a "Magdalena" and that idea came back again everytime my dear friend say to me: "why do you like so much that black music? you have a "black soul"... i don't know but don't play "I got my mind made up" cause it is not me the one who shakes the body on the dance floor i simply has no explanation... :)
The Best tracks of this great record: "I got my mind made up, "Crying", Don't you wanna party", and from the side b "Wide world of sports" and "Dark Vader" yeah you're right the ones that you can dance...

Ethan my friend,I guess I am a little(maybe a lot) older then you. I was around to spin this CLASSIC record, so I remember people like you pretended to be. I am just wondering if DISCO MADNESS has claimed another victim?? You sound to me like a guy a few Bacon strips short of a Club sandwich. You okay, need someone to call for help??? American Humor!!
You'll never be heard if you don't post...
