US issue on Marlin Records of this great Queen Samantha LP. The tracks here have different mixes from those on the French pressing. Take a Chance, the main track of interest here, has a dubbed-out, hypnotic feel to it, which is very different from the more radio-edit feel of the Euro version.
BEFORE: the original French album version of Take A Chance by Queen Samantha:
Here's what remixer Steve Thompson had to say:
This was the version i had to work with. I brought percussion players and keyboard players in before I mixed it. Went for a different vibe. Larry Levan loved playing my mix. The Garage crowd loved it.
AFTER: Listen to the American remix by Steve Thompson of Take A Chance by Queen Samantha:
Listen to Sweet San Francisco:
Listen to Thank You For Your Love:
