Apr 30, 2007 | 4:27 pmThis 12" of the classic "25 miles" is not the original 1969 Gordy recording used by many club Djs in the early 70s.
The late Edwin Starr re-recorded this version for the 80's and even though this version is excellent, in my experience it failed to reach the same level of club excitement the original did.
The Promotional 12" of this version (TDC-120-DJ) replaces "Never turn my back on you" with an instrumental version (4:00) of "Twenty Five Miles".

PS: I only read about the Club success of the original '69 version since I was not clubbing at the time, but I remember "25 Miles" was still playing on AM radio in the early 70's, my club experience only extends to the 1980 version.
