I first heard of George McCrae's music because of "Rock Your Baby" (obviously) and for years I didn't know any other song of his, till I found this record back in 2005. It was "brand new" sealed and lost in a record store that usually sells regional music of México, it's an old store not too big but in business since 1977.
Was a big surprise to enter the store cause i saw from the street that they had on sale several lp records for just a few "pesos" (i paid less than 3 usd for it) so i found this record and got it. The song was not popular here (at least what i remember never heard of it before)but it's a good one that song reminds me of Silver Convetion's music specially for the violins and the catchy choir "I think I got the notion, to keep my Love in Motion, to keep my love in motion, don't analize it, don't critize it..."
The record has a cover art proper of the record company and is one that they used for many other artists for their disco singles, it shows a paiting of two girls on left side of the "window that shows the record info" and two guys on the right side dancing wearing costumes and shoes typical from the 70s years all in purple and the logo in spanish "Disco-Tec Sencillo" (Disco-Tec Single).
Since the record was sealed was nice to find a "letter" from the company that really looks like a letter writed with a typemachine showing with courier font "info news" about George McCrae with the head topic "RCA Noticias" (RCA News)the text is in spanish and what it says is:
Disco-Tec 2 "Amor en Movimiento" "Olvida ese Sentimiento" George McCrae.
¡¡¡ Feeling And ... Motion !!!
George McCrae has been in a good position with the fans of the dance music, since his hits like "Rock Your Baby" (That sold more than 15 millions single records in 1974)"Ha pasado Tanto Tiempo", "Baila, Baila, Baila" "Honey", "Llegándote" and other songs that since long ago got the general public's atention.
Paying attention to that and the people preference for our artist, we present you now "Amor en Movimiento" and "Olvida ese Sentimiento", both songs wrote by Greg Diamond, young musician that shows us here, his magnific experience as an author.
McCrae's music has a very particular characteristic, it's rhythm, seducer, and alienating, this has caused without doubts, that our singer draws people's atention since the first notes, in which the instrumment's balance, is carefully managed at the maximum by technitians and the artist himself.
Totally entertainment with George McCrae, and his great "Miami Sound", already popular in the whole world.
RCA S.A. de C.V. V / 17 / 1977 ARB.
I wasn't sure to write this letter cause the page said write the review with your own words but this was in Spanish and i translated to the English so you can read what the company said to promote the artist, for me the letter in Spanish is great and i keep it cause it is 30 years old!!!
