Souvenirs is by today's standards a very avant-garde song. If it were to be released today, it would blow away many of today's songs.

One of my first real disco albums I ever purchased, at 16 years old. Most disco I listened to came via South Florida, my birthplace and place of frequent visits as a kid. Souvenirs filled the South Florida airwaves, and the lyrics perfectly reflected those carefree days of youth under the palm-lined sunsets. A frequent visitor to my turntable, Souvenirs (and From East To West) are in my top 10.

The high point of disco, no question. My ex-wife (hi, Karen!) and I used to dance to Souvenirs in clubs all over the Southeastern USA. No better feeling in the world than being alone on the dance floor with someone you love, while the rest of the club go-ers watch you. Beautiful music, timeless. Transcendent. Supernatural. I can hear it 10,000 times and still the tears of joy flow. Souvenirs is in a class by itself.

Unquestionably the greatest disco track ever. I will never, ever tire of hearing this one...
