MUSIC REVIEW & RECORD COLLECTOR NOTES

"Your Love Is A Life Saver" is one of Gayle Adams' best known tracks and was released by Prelude Records in 1980.

Remixed by François Kevorkian. Gayle Adams also did the track "Love Fever." Co-producer Willie Lester also produced the tracks "Check Out the Groove" and "You Got What It Takes" for Bobby Thurston also on Prelude Records.

Issued as a promotional 12" by Prelude (PRL D 526)

A clever rip of the melody from Rod Stewart's "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy," well timed to Adams' exciting vocals.

Think of a less exotic, southern-inflected version of Grace Jones. That was Gayle, and the black boys and the rest of the "chilluns" at Paradise Garage and similar clubs simply swooned over her!

This and "Love Fever" from Winter 1981- 1982 (which I prefer) were substantial hits on black radio nationwide.
