Feb 20, 2006 | 3:09 pmA clever rip of the melody from Rod Stewart's "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy," well timed to Adams' exciting vocals.
Think of a less exotic, southern-inflected version of Grace Jones. That was Gayle, and the black boys and the rest of the "chilluns" at Paradise Garage and similar clubs simply swooned over her!
This and "Love Fever" from Winter 1981- 1982 (which I prefer) were substantial hits on black radio nationwide.
