NOTES ON THIS VINYL RECORD:

This rare copy of this 1973 club hit from this obscure group is a perfect example of that unique sound that characterized early Discotheque club music dubbed back then by many as “underground” music, heavy bass and drums, harmonizing soulful vocals (reminiscent of the Chi-lites) over catchy rhythm guitar riffs and acoustic piano created the perfect dance floor ingredients for those early Disco years.

Tom Moulton later in 1977 released on the same label a remixed and extended version (5:33) on the flip side of Tony Valor’s “Ma-Mo-Ah” 12” (Disco 209), this version increases the tempo from 118 to 122 BPM and adds instrumental parts not found on this original release, including a constant drum kick and tambourine, but even though this remix is very interesting and a desirable addition to any collection, the altering decisions made for this remix including the regrettable omission of the beautiful harmonizing acappella intro and dramatic cold ending, in my view, robs this recording of it’s original charm and appeal and fails to recaptured the essence of the original and therefore in this rare instance I prefer this original over the Tom Moulton remix.
