YOUR REVIEWS & COMMENTS ON Carl Douglas

POP went this song. All the radio stations played it. In every house party it was played. In street jams and block parties it was played. In DISCOS it was burned out. A DISCO CLASSIC, this song put people on the dance floor. It came before BAD MAMMA JAMMA, and made Carl a household name. It should have been re-released with a remix, but that never happened. Still gets a 10 on my scale from 1-10.

Hi vyniljunkie it seems that we likes the same style , but you know something ... the best tracks i this LP for me are Witchfinder General and Blue Eyed Soul and Kung Fu Fighting comes to no. 3 for me but it's still great track .
but question : is there is a relation between Carl Douglas and BAD MAMMA JAMMA ?
Posted by: MAN | Mar 07, 08 | 8:36 am

MAN, that was a silly question, BAD MAMMA JAMMA was a female in CARL DOUGLAS' life that drove him crazy. He penciled that song as a way of telling her how he felt. Carl was/is a down to earth guy who loved to party with big women, I take that back, he loved to party with ALL women!! As for the other songs on that album, none of them ever made it, never released as a single. But I do like BLUE EYED SOUL, and if I am not mistaken, it was featured in a BLACK-EXPLOITATION movie in the late 70's. Don't remember which one though. Later.

Listen MAN, I am fascinated that you love DISCO, from Egypt. Are you Egyptian? Where are you at? where have you heard your music? I once went to deejay in DUBAI in the summer of 1984, at the only Hotel they had there, I know it isn't that way anymore. How on earth did you become a CARL DOUGLAS fan? I am sorry, I don't know of any DISCO record stores in Egypt. But I am capable of helping you anyway. Get back to me.

The team at Graebar designed and installed the sound systems for the Saint, 12 West, Trocadero Transfer, Probe and several other world class night clubs in the 1970s. Read it now...
