Interesting only in the sense that Joel Diamond's Silver Blue would later be used as the name of his future record label that was distributed by CBS in the early 80s.

Feb 28, 2010 | 6:39 amIssued as a 4-disc promotional 12" box set under the Epic label in 1978. Contents of this box set are:
AS 462 "Jambalaya" (5:41) b/w "Land Of A Thousand Dances" (7:01)
AS 463 "Alexander's Ragtime Band" (6:24) b/w "Light My Fire" (5:06)
AS 464 "So Rare" (4:26) b/w "Yellow Rose Of Texas" (5:57)
AS 465 "Tennessee Waltz" (7:01) b/w "Good Vibrations" (7:13)
Over the years, despite devoting much effort to squeeze out a few morsels of 'disco' admiration for any of the tracks, we regrettably relegated the set in its entirety in the end to 'The Lawrence Welk Show' status.

Jun 02, 2008 | 3:05 pmFunny that most of the tracks from the Silver Blue S/T LP were released as singles, as this one. Joel Diamond, the producer behind Silver Blue, released another LP in 1979 under the name: Joel Diamond Experience, with such figures as joe Delia and Artie Kaplan.

I enjoy listening to the Big Bands from long ago. That was an Era, when music was music.
