Hailing from Sweden, Abba - the pop supergroup of the 1970s, took the world by storm with such songs as Fernando, Money, Money, Money, Knowing Me Knowing You and Dancing Queen from their 1976 album Arrival.
Abba's lineup consisted of couples Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Benny Andersson, Bjàrn Ulvaeus, Agnetha Fâltskog. Look at the first letter of their first names... A-B-B-A.
Despite earlier releases like Waterloo in 1974, Dancing Queen was the very first Abba 12 inch single issued in the U.S. under the Atlantic Records label. This double "A" sided promo from 1976 contained the same version of Dancing Queen as on the LP Arrival, but with better fidelity. It doesn't appear that this song was ever released commercially as a 12 inch single.
