I truly feel this is THE only version I will listen or dance to! Great Harold Wheeler arrangement (He worked with Meco and Gloria Gaynor). New York Funk, with a great disco re-editing job. But it's sooooo hard to find the 12" single version since it was not put on any LP. Some 7" singles actually have the disco version (though not as good fidelity as the 12") It was recorded the same time the original broadway cast was (1975), but this actually charted pretty well. It doesn't include vocals by the broadway cast lead (Stephanie Mills).
Odd thing was that Atlantic Records cross promoted this version so everyone would buy the broadway cast album. Consumer Rapport version wasn't even on it.
The 1978 Michael Jackson/Diana Ross version (film) was very weak in comparison.
Consumer Rapport's version is a rare find and I highly recommend!

Charming and soulful, from when bursting into giggles on a dance track still sounded spontaneous, not calculated (right, Whitney? Janet?)

Bonus points for this group's self-effacing name. Even the record label's name didn't take itself seriously! Modesty and good arrangements also served Consumer Rapport well on "Everybody Join Hands."
