MUSIC REVIEW & RECORD COLLECTOR NOTES

Jackie Moore had a huge Disco hit with 1979's This Time Baby on Columbia Records and was taken from her I'm On My Way album. It has since gone on to become an out and out Disco classic. Her song was a remake / cover of the O'Jay's song from the year before.

Jackie Moore began working in Philly with Phil Hurt and Bunny Sigler and later teamed up with Bobby Eli who produced "This Time Baby." Since Bobby Eli was also producing Atlantic Starr at the time he got them to play the rhythm tracks for Jackie's material.

The original 12 inch John Luongo Disco remix of Jackie Moore's "This Time Baby" shown here was going for big bucks. Columbia Records reissued it in 1984 with a black and white picture of Jackie Moore on the sleeve to satisfy the demand.

We should all chip in to open a 70's disco. For us only. No hip hop, grunch, rock, only old disco crowd.

I've the original 12" and John's mix was the drive missing from Disco's journey!

One of the best intros available!

For me this is the greatest extended cut of the late seventies, just shading Evelyn Champagne King's Shame to be probably my favourite disco record of the era. A classic from an era when you danced to the tune as much as to the beat.
