After the Supremes disbanded in 1977, Motown released this hits package of the 70's Supremes in 1978 - mostly hits from 1970 to 1976, including the non-album single "Bad Weather", a funky Stevie Wonder disco production. Also included are two previously unreleased tracks: "Love Train" (featuring Jean Terrell) and "The Sha-La Bandit" (featuring Scherrie Payne).
'At Their Best' originally was going to be issued on CD in the 1990's, but it was cancelled. It was finally issued on CD for the first time on the 2005 2-CD set 'The Supremes - Gold.'
