After The Supremes disbanded in 1977, Mary Wilson released a self-titled solo album in 1979, and Scherrie Payne and Susaye Greene released their own album as a duo the same year.

'Partners' is a disco gem that was definitely released well before its time, the only single being "Leaving Me Was The Best Thing You've Ever Done" (released as a 7" and 12" singles). Sadly the cream of the crop was yet to be heard - the fast paced disco of "Storybook Romance" (also recorded by Freda Payne earlier in the 70's), the slow jams "You've Been Good To Me", and "In The Night", and the Scherrie Payne fan favorite "Another Night From Now". Ray Charles lends a groovy cameo on Susaye's "Luvbug" as well. Some of the tracks on this album were recorded as a duo, and the rest are solo tracks with the other usually as a supporting backup singer.

Other known tracks from these sessions that remain unreleased are "We'll Get By", "Special Kind Of Love", and "Slow Dance".

'Partners' will allegedly be released by Hip-O Select/Motown Select in either late 2005 or sometime in 2006 (possibly inclusive with a 2 Volume boxed set of The Supremes 70's).
