MUSIC REVIEW & RECORD COLLECTOR NOTES

This RCA 12î is the second one issued to promote Southern Exposureís ěHeadiní Southî album and in my opinion contains the best two cuts of that LP, with full orchestra instrumentation and memorable melody ěLove isî (132 BPM) could be easily mistaken for a Alec R. Costandinos (Constandinos) production , with similar vocals arrangements and a break very reminiscent of previous Love and Kisses hits no wonder this cut was very popular with the ěHustleî dancers at the day.

ěOn our Wayî (104 BPM) is a wonderful down tempo number popular in many clubs where ěSleazeî was a major part of the nightís musical program, the Album credits the vocals to an unfamiliar name, Debbie Cathey, but her wonderful understated soulful rendition coupled with a sweet melody performed by a rare (in Disco) harmonica makes listening to this cut a delightful experience.

PS: The first 12î issued (JD 11529) contains ěHeadiní Southî on side A with ěLove isî once again delegated to side B.
