  • Fred

Lushly produced gay anthem that was immediately released from Sharon's "Redd Hott" album in 1982 but did not peak in popularity until two years later. Still spins on gay dance floors now and then.

What a fine singer: Sharon's ripe, nervous contralto fronted street-diva sass, but with cabaret instincts to rival any Carlyle Club headliner. Listen to her scatting on certain mixes of "Can You Handle It" and you'll really know what I mean. I still miss her.
