Delightful "street" hit from Sharon's Redd Hott LP, the sort of record that made for many a lazy Saturday afternoon in 1982-3 New York, especially if you were listening to KISS, BLS or within earshot of turntables in Spanish Harlem. The LP, which is worth shelling out for, contains the full mix of this AND its two other hits, "Beat The Street" and "In the Name of Love."
A little breakbeat, and somewhat in the vein of what would soon be known as "freestyle," "Never Give You Up" is an airy, reflective tribute to devotion.
