Jul 02, 2009 | 8:21 pmHere in Montreal - radio really got into "Don't fall in love" and "Give me your love".Local radio played album tracks as well as surefire hits.
Too bad this laid-back disco stomper never got the recognition it deserved at home. It does feature some of Alma Faye's best lyrics & singing ever !!!

Mar 16, 2008 | 10:31 amSo you think she wrote this song as a farewell to DISCO? Interesting? Maybe, but how about the end of a RELATIONSHIP? Either way, you are right, this little known and little played record was pretty good. While never a PRIME TIME PLAYER, it got a fair response from the Dance Floors. On my scale from 1-10 it gets a 6.

Jan 28, 2007 | 3:30 pmAlma Faye remains one of disco's little secrets: even disco-hating rock critics praised her Casablanca album.
This hit fully demonstrates her soulfully interpretive charm: the song is, as much as anything about the end of disco, which was becoming clear at the time.
Too downbeat to be anyone's favorite record - not mine, at least - but note for note, it's hard to fault. The strings are especially well-arranged.

I've bought every Alma Faye (Brooks) release, I've ever come across.
"Gimme Your Love" & "It's Over" remain my favorites.
