MUSIC REVIEW & RECORD COLLECTOR NOTES

Kid Creole and the Coconuts was created by August Darnell from some of the members of Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band

Kid Creole and the Coconuts were a strange mix of 40's Big Band meets Disco meets New York funk meets Caribbean Island sounds... and is readily evidenced on "Me No Pop I" (no, not Pop-eye the cartoon!) from 1980.

Also take a listen to "Annie, I'm Not Your Daddy" and be prepared to laugh out loud as you sing along.
