MUSIC REVIEW & RECORD COLLECTOR NOTES

KC and the Sunshine Band's front man Harry Wayne Casey, a Florida native, got his start by doing warehouse duties at the TK Records offices before his rise to fame. He began by stocking records and eventually started writing songs for other artists in the TK stable including Jimmy "Bo" Horne and George McCrae. For a great history lesson check out: That's the Way I Like It (The Harry Wayne Casey Story)

Featured here is the third KC and the Sunshine Band album, which contained the mega hit "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty." One of KC's backing ladies, Margaret Reynolds, had a nice track called "All Day, All Night" on the Sunshine Sound label.

Loved K C and the Sunshine Band while I was in grammar school during the 1970's and still do, but eventually I over-dosed on them and now play their records infrequently.
