MUSIC REVIEW & RECORD COLLECTOR NOTES

Madleen Kane , who was a beautiful European model, had many great Disco songs including some later ones produced by Giorgio Moroder.

Featured here is the Warner Brothers US 12 inch Disco single from 1979 of "Forbidden Love," which has to be one of her finest.

"Forbidden Love" is a Jim Burgess Disco remix taken from the album "Cheri." On the album side one consisted of a non-stop suite featuring "Forbidden Love / Fire In Your Heart / Cheri / Secret Love Affair." It was arranged by Thor Baldursson and the engineer on the album was Jurgens Koppers. Other musicians who played on the album are a who's who of Disco music such as Matts Bjorklund on guitar, Les Hurdle on bass, Keith Forsey on drums and percussion by Voyage's Marc Chantereau. The first three who are part of Munich Machine.

If you enjoy Madleen Kane's music then check out her earlier album "Rough Diamond" for the title cut, which was also on a special 12 inch.

Madleen Kane continued into the 1980's with the rock tinged "Chechez Pas" on Chalet Records and the Giorgio Moroder produced tracks "You Can" and "Playing For Time."

After her stint with Giorgio Moroder, Madleen Kane dipped her toes in Hi-NRG with the lackluster Ian Anthony Stephens produced "I'm No Angel" and "On Fire" for California's TSR Records.

  • Martini Houdini

I consider this to be the quintessential disco song. It starts at the valley and reaches the mountain top at the end. Incredible production. And, oh, those strings! Perfection.
