MUSIC REVIEW & RECORD COLLECTOR NOTES

As Disco moved further into the eighties, real instruments were being replaced by the computer. This was not bad as evidenced by this popular track on Tommy Boy Records.

Hailing from Minneapolis, Information Society's "Running" was originally released on Twin Tone. It was mixed by "Little" Louie Vega. The original CD release of the album was a CD+G disc which contained crude graphics, animation and lyrics.

From late 1985 to early 1987, RUNNING had to be the most played record in the streets of every urban section of town. THIS WAS THE ONE,THE FIRST "BEATS" that was the father of todays music. It was pure DISCO, just with an up-to-date soundtrack. No longer was full-orchestration the way to make DISCO music, it now was more electronical, and studio based. A change in the music took place with this record. Soon everyone literally, imitated this song. For the next few years, a lot of the Dance Music released sounds like this!! On my scale from 1-10, this DISCO CLASSIC gets a 10.
