MUSIC REVIEW & RECORD COLLECTOR NOTES

Loleatta Holloway's 1977 debut LP for Norman Harris's Gold Mine Records introduced her to the disco crowd who simply fell in love with her strong driving vocals on classic numbers like Hit and Run, Dreamin and Ripped Off all which reached the number three position on Billboard's Club Play Singles Chart. But equally as good were her soulful pleadings on ballads such as Sam Dees" Worn Out Broken Heart" and Curtis Mayfields "What Now"
