MUSIC REVIEW & RECORD COLLECTOR NOTES
Thelma Houston apparently is not related to Whitney or Cissy Houston, but similarly did get her start in Gospel.
"Don't Leave me This Way" is Thelma Houston's remake of the classic song by Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes.

Bernie, are you sure she isn't related to her sister and her niece??--- Many deejays cite this as their favorite DISCO CLASSIC. It sure is one fantastic record! I tend to think of songs like this as being the REAL THING!! It would hold its own in any era, be it the fifties, sixties or today!! Excellent to "cut" mix out of and into. Not as easy to remix though. Still, for over a solid year, this was a top five song during the PRIME TIME HOURS!! A challenge to remix every night, thus it will always be one of my favorites as well. On my scale from 1-10, of course it gets a 10.
