Jan 04, 2009 | 2:22 pmHmmm..
I first heard this song in 1975, and thought it was a Barry White song, but was mistaken. I knew the "Lady. Lady, Lady" part but for 33 years I was unable to identify the artist or the complete name of the song, even though I could play the entire song in my head. Tonight I finally hit gold finding it on YouTube.

Oct 18, 2008 | 9:37 amLOL, wow, I loved hearing this again. I wrote this in 1975 and arranged it for the recording soon after. The vocal by Mel was not the hit though as the instrumental side in an elongated disco mix was the blasted in clubs world over. I later licensed this theme to Jovan Perfume Company who used it for their Man and Woman Cologne commercials. Then CBS Football game of The week oicked it up as their Theme for many years...no, it didn't make me rich but I am proud to have it in my history. No more disoc tunes, but check out my recent work on iTunes and all the rest under Marier on Businessman record.
Thank you all who commented so wonderfully.

Jun 25, 2007 | 10:29 amI too have been searching for this Boogie Man Orchestra record since someone borrowed my copy back in 76 and I have not seen it since. Checked out eBay and managed to find a copy, would say to anyone looking for it to try eBay as there was more than one listed for sale.

Jan 11, 2007 | 4:31 pmi am a 51 yr. old male who grew up in the 70's and absolutely fell in love with this mind blowing song, lady lady lady. i have been searching, and i am not exagerating over 20 odd years, and thanks to this web site, i finally located the artist. there has to be some 70's classic compilation that would include this classic. please advise me if this is possible? youts truly A FAN.

What can I add? This is & was my #1 favorite Disco Song of all time! I have 2 7" copies, and was forever looking for a 12" (not knowing if I was looking for something that was never made! I am still looking! Darn!! I always wondered WHAT "Lady,Lady,Lady WAS? A movie? What ?
(or just its name)?
In the New york/new Jersey area it was NOT a big radio play hit, maybe got up to like # 25-30 or so, but in Jersey clubs, during the disco days, it was a big hit. Mel Hayes, if ya out there....THANK YOU for my #1 most happy - best memories and the back ground music of my life.
