I was in college when this song came out, already a Club deejay for a few years. I still have ALL this original vinyl. If you ever want or need help or advise, get a hold of me under my profile,"Disco DJ/remixer-Pete Denis". This is my life, in fact a few lives!! I know ALL the music, and can always tell you about any of it, including the hundreds of "hidden gems" that no-one ever heard of, most of this music never made it on radio, so there are a lot of the unknown classics. I love the music and the times. Wish you could have experienced a world free from AIDS, the fun we had!! Talk soon!

I'm 28, so the record is older than I am. I don't think any clubs out this way play anything other than what's current/up-to-date, which I lost interest in a long time ago due to just how much better 60's-70's music is. Kind of a fan of older hip-hop who got curious about the original sources, and discovered a whole new world of music as a result. To be fair to K-TEL, Ronco comps are even worse.

    "Gimme Some" ain't bad either.

Obviously you are a young, or at least younger then me, guy. And I suppose you really are right, if it is just the "songs" you are interested in, K-TEL is an excellent way of snapping up songs that are hard to find. But I certainly hope and expect that actually playing them in a night club or party, K-TEL is a last resort! And of course you are right when you ended with,"but Dance across the floor would sound great on ANYTHING". Point taken. If you are seriously looking for "real" records, this song can be picked up for "pennies" compared to its original cost, it will cost you more for shipping then the actual record itself. Nice communicating with a "BO" fan!!

Well, it's hard to find good vinyl out here, and I'm more of a hobbyist DJ. K-TEL introduced me to a lot of songs I might otherwise not have heard.......K-TEL production quality does generally blow, but those earlier blue-label comps are passable. Unfortunately, this song was on the later, even more crappy comps....but Dance across the floor would sound great on ANYTHING.

A deejay that played a K-TEL record??? You must be joking!! With all the versions available, K-TEL should never be played. K-TEL production quality is terrible, but on the record above, it was great. DANCE ACROSS THE FLOOR was very big, it kept the floors packed, and remained popular for months!! On my scale from 1-10, it gets a 10.

I have it on a K-TEL compilation (gotta love K-TEL). I absolutely LOVE this song! Casey/Finch at their finest. One of the best Disco songs ever, IMO. Especially the intro. Great horns and an unforgettable organ riff.
