This Canadian release of the LP was pressed on beige/powder coloured vinyl. In some other countries this LP was simply attributed to "Alma Faye".
The first five tracks are all uptempo disco numbers. All are good, but "Don't fall in love", "Gimme your love" and "It's over" are particularly excellent. "Brother Dan" is is more soul/gospel oriented, and "Thank you" is midtempo.
Overall, a recommended LP.

In late 1978 Michel Daigle and Dominic Sciscente (BLACK LIGHT ORCHESTRA fame), along with ALMA FAYE BROOKS began writing and recording what would become her only album release. Originaly released in Canada (see photo above) "Doin' It" would be a disco masterpiece. By 1979 the album would make it's way to the American club scene when Casablanca records picked it up and re-released here under the shortened Alma Faye moniker.
"Don't fall in love" was Alma's classic disco mix of 1979, on her Casablanca and RCA album "Doin' it".
Don't fall in Love and It's over were the hits from this LP!

I mixed much of this Alma Faye Brooks LP & 12' MIX...
("Don't Fall In Love" & "Give Me Your Love", etc) at Alpha International Studios in Phlly in 1979 with Dominic Sciscente & Michel Daigle.
Does anyone know why these credits been left out here in the above text? I have the exact box and poster inserts shown above (from RCA) in front of me as I write this. My MIX credits are fully there.

I am sorry if you were offended that I left your credits off when I submitted this LP's details into the discography.
The list of credits is very long and, in common with virtually all the other entries on this site, I just typed in the first few credits, i.e. authors, producer, arranger / conductor.
I'm sure Bernie can update my entry with the extra information, which according to the scan of my friend's LP which I have in front of me, says...
"Mixed at: Alpha International Recording Studios Inc. (Philadelphia)
Mixing engineer: Gene Leone, assisted by Frank Bernardine and Al Albertini"
By the way, it is an honour to have one of the people who helped make such wonderful music happen not only posting on this site, but also responding to an entry I made in the discography! It makes one feel quite humble... Thanks very much.

No problem *lol*and now I totally understand, I didn't realize this, and I thought this was another re-issue where they just leave a big chunk of the original credits off the new release, which is never fair to anyone who always tries to put a big chunk of their heart into their work.
