ANOTHER NOTE ON THIS RECORD....AFTER SPEAKING TO AN ORIGINAL MEMBER OF "THE NEW YORK RECORD POOL" AND A FEW OTHER PEOPLE WHO WERE THERE AT THE START OF THE 12" ERA....SOME HAVE STATED THAT THIS WAS THE VERY FIRST 12" PROMO......
I agree with this statement, as I also was of the dj's from Eddie Rivera's record pool.
I use to have a commercial release version of the 12" which sadly i have lost. Also to add to the debate Tom Moulton has stated in the new edition of KEEP ON magazine ( uk based ) that Swearin To God by Frankie Valli was the first available 12".
I have try everything to get a song in the album swearin to god by the name " In my eyes" not my eyes adore you, not can't take my eyes off of you. simply " In my eyes" a beautiful song i've search everywhere , and i can't get it anywhere, i'm willing to buy it or the album but i can't even get that . If you have the answer to my problem let me know please thank you.
julian, the answer to your problem is here almost a year after your post...brand new, all of valli's disco era LPs have been issued on cd from the label collectors choice. "in my eyes" is prob my fave ballad of valli's too.
i just bought all of em, its 2 lp's per disc, 3 cd's if you wanna get em all - 6 albums in total (i did cause im a valli fan)...they are real and true from the master tapes and sound 10000000xs better than the original vinyl, which some of those lps were pressed badly.
also, on the "closeup" lp (which is the one your after), "swearin to god" is the full 10:35 as on the 12"...while on the original release they did an early fade out at 9:55.
