Grand Master Flash & the Furious Five featuring Melle Mel & Duke Bootee would change the face of Rap / Hip Hop with "The Message" and the earlier "White Lines." The lyrics were no longer about partying and who raps better, but the nitty gritty of the inner city ghettos.

The back cover to this UK 12 inch single features the lyrics to "The Message."
