Fever's 1979 follow-up called "Beat of the Night" also on Fantasy. I feel this song is way better than "Standing..." with its more solid vocals and better energy.
I often wonder if Patrick Cowley is playing on this because there are some synth parts in "Beat of the Night" that seem to bear his signature sound.
With "Pump It Up" Fever slowed down the tempo (126 BPM) and went for a more soulful R & B sound. Listen for the piano break with the soaring synth-it sounds like Cowley to me! Grab a hold of this single for these two songs.
