War's Latin style dance record "Outlaw" only managed a measly #94 on the Hot 100 but it really shined under the disco lights in the summer of 1982.

One of those 1982 records that sped the brief, curious, ultimately abortive momentum towards a dance/disco revival.
This was funky WAR, not the quasi-disco of "Galaxy"; but just as good; better even, so kick-a** that it and a number of other excellent but stylistically different records made me think disco was going to return to what it had been just a few years before.
A few months and the terror of AIDS put paid to that notion.
