Chic on the Buddah Records label first?!
Before Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers, collectively known as Chic, signed with Atlantic Records they had their first Disco single released on the Buddah label. The Buddah 12" Disco single is now a collector's item, but relatively easy to track down. Featured here is the Atlantic Records release.

Mar 03, 2010 | 3:38 amThe promotional 12" was issued as DSKO 101. The 12" pictured above may be the first commercially-released 12" by Atlantic, given its number.

I was so in to this song in the 70s going to NY the Village hanging at The Ninth Circe on 10th av and on the jukebox playing many times over during the night was Yowsah-Yowsah-Yowsah the Ninth Circle was not a dance club by any means so it was an odd song for the type bar I would hear it at Studio 57 uptown on Sunday afternoons I loved it so I got YOWSAH on my NJ vanity tag for my new 78 Trans AM I still have that plate today hanging on my wall
