Very unusual for an up and coming artist to have a custom label on their records. That kind of labeling is usually reserved for established artists.
One of the most popular songs of the disco era really was not. "Heart Of Glass" by Blondie (Debby Harry) failed to reach the top 50 spot on the Billboard Top 80 Chart. But it's claim to fame was that it shot all the way up to #1 on the Hot 100 Singles Chart.

Well, well. Do you realize that HEART OF GLASS is what put DISCO over the top. It was this song, the credibility, it gave DISCO around the world. The fact that BLONDIE a new wave, punk-rock band, on top of the world, release a DISCO song like HEART OF GLASS gave DISCO the push into the limelight of the world's eye. From the point this song was released, until almost 1980, DISCO ruled! We were "IN", the cool place to go, the latest music craze. BLONDIE didn't intend that, but that is the fact. This was the catalyst that propelled DISCO into the world stage. HEART OF GLASS was a fantastic song, excellent introduction, fantastic breaks. It was taylor made for a DISCO disc jockey to play with. I was known to play twenty minute versions of this twice a night for almost a full year!! A little over-board? Possibly, but my crowds loved every minute of it.Without a doubt, this is a TEN on my rating scale of 1-10. HEART OF GLASS IS A SERIOUS CANDIDATE AS THE BEST DISCO SONG EVER!!
