MUSIC REVIEW & RECORD COLLECTOR NOTES

Joe Tex was not keen on the disco craze, so wrote novelty record "Discomonia" to express his frustration at the way disco was taking over in 1979. In doing so, he inadvertently wrote and performed a great disco record!

The song refers to him having caught "a disease called Discomonia", and contains a spoken dialogue over an infectious beat.

He complains that he doesn't know what a "groove thing" is, but his "fell off and someone stood on it and mashed it all to pieces"! He goes on to call Rod Stewart "ridiculous", and complain about "Donna Summers" (sic) and the Bee Gees.

A great record well worth a listen, backed by an uninteresting funk record "Fat people".
