"Cousin Ice" is a string and flute laden track with nice guitar riffs from 1981 on New York's independent Urban Rock Records. A nice underground Disco track worth checking out.
"Fresh Light" on the B-side also features the flute but adds some horns to the mix along with a prominent male vocal lead.

Dec 22, 2004 | 6:50 pmThis single comes from a fantastic lp of the same title! Ranginf from 70's disco to a kind of 60's/70's "Caravan" style funk/folk sound it is certainly one of my favourite lp's of all time. Never seen it before or after getting my copy new in 1981. Wish it were available on cd - I would buy it immediately!!

Just to add, that male vocalist is none other then 'Risky Chages' (Bionic Boogie) vocalist Zach Sanders. Also the flutist is Ira Cossin. I was A&R man for the label that really had some fine releases ie: The Cousin Ice lp and Splash Band. also Harold Vick with Eric Gale you know Eric from his outrageous guitar on Grover Washingtons "Mr Magic"
