Producer Ray Martinez (Amant, Sassy...) released a great Disco record in 1980 uner the group name Passion. Very reminiscent of Amant's sound. While both cuts are great, it is "In New York" that was popular back in the day and the best cut. Highly recommended.
Ray Martinez wrote in with the following...
Thanks! Dancing and Romancing ....... aahhhh!, uuummm! ........ That session was recorded on a weekend, yes, I still remember. The reason being ..... lets just say it was a fun and crazy weekend. Normally I would record the tracks alone, and then bring in the extra musicians to do the overdubs. On this particular day, we were all in at the same time .... party time .... just like when we did Lady of the Night. It was a rare occassion when I had more than a couple of players at a time in the studio, unless we were doing strings or horns, but when everyone was there, it was memorable and of course, fffuuuunnnnnnnn !!!!
.
Passion was another name for me and my studio group. When I did the project for Prelude, I had to keep the name Amant with T.K., so I came up with Passion. If you look at the album credits, you can see that basically, we were all the same as Amant, even the singers, Richard and I. Later on there was a conflict with the name Passion, and the name stayed with Prelude. A R & B group did an album for them. Later, out of Canada, they combined both groups' tracks. The R & B group, I believe was a proper band. I went out and also kept the name for my tours. I went out as Amant/Passion, and Ray Martinez and Friends, and we did songs from the three records.

Hello everyone,
The track 'In New York' I discovered a few months ago but it was only recently that I found out there was another track on the record. 'Don't Bring Back Memories' has some simularities with 'In New York', but who could tell me please why ""In New York" [...] [was] [...] the best cut"?
Thank!
