MUSIC REVIEW & RECORD COLLECTOR NOTES

The second Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band album. Not nearly as good as their 1976 still-classic first album.

Woa, I find this to be a fantastic album. It was my introduction to the band, so maybe it hit me as the thing to love. But...can't agree with the supposed horridness you all are proposing

Did they want help?? they thought that they were on top of the world. They were young, invincible like all youth thinks. Remember?? I thought I was indestructible, nothing could touch me. I was very wrong! They had it all, talent, youth, popularity. They were the best of their era, they didn't need help. There was not enough knowledge as to the real dangers of DRUGS, no one there to show them the evils. They found out the hard way. Guys, please check HISTORY 101 on this site, I need help on a survey about the effects of DRUGS and DISCO. please check it out, leave a comment. HELP!!

"Nocturnal" was sort of listenable too. All this drug-related stuff is sad. Dr. Buzzard destroyed itself. No one was around to stop them.

Good point??I wonder that myself, but am not sure MISTER LOVE was a strong-enough recording to crack into that very impressive first album. Who knows, you might be right. Sounds like it, doesn't it. SL-Q3 ?? Where is the 1200??

"Mister Love" and the rest of side-1 tried to capture the feel of their first album.

I wonder if "Mister Love" was recorded for the first album but for whatever reason never included in it. It does sound like it belonged on that album.

It's the only song from this album that I remember 30 years later. (My vinyl albums are back in their storage boxes and my old Technics SL-Q3 turntable put away!)

FADING AWAY?? Does that mean you're getting old? I sure have!! I though this was a poor album, granted "Mister Love" was the best song on the album, but it too didn't get any air time either on the radio, or in my case, in the DISCOS/NIGHT CLUBS!! Remember those days? Drugs did a lot of damage, curtailed a lot of careers, sadly, DBOSB was a casualty. They lost recording contracts, GIGS, tours were canceled, and it was SOLELY due to COKE and HEROIN!! They were not the only ones, but from my perspective, they were the biggest talent!!

This album sucked as much as their first one was great. On my scale from 1-10, they owe me points!!!

This album wasn't that bad, just disappointing. "Mister Love" and the rest of side-1 tried to capture the feel of their first album. Interesting and sad how drugs destroyed DBOSB. Kind of explains their quicj demise.

The HEROIN years, that what this album should be called. It was tough to produce good quality material when you're so strung out you can't stand up. A complete waste of time and vinyl. I was so disappointed in my boys, then I saw them attempt to perform in THE LIMELIGHT down here in South Florida. They were high as a kite! Staggering on stage, and forgetting the words to songs. Slurring their speech! What a bummer! there was only one song on this album that I could even THINK about playing, that was AUF WIEDERSHEN, DARRIO. I couldn't go through with it, never played it. This album sucked as much as their first one was great. On my scale from 1-10, they owe me points!!!
