Double Exposure
My Love Is Free (12")
Salsoul Records (US) 1976 / 12D-2016
12" Disco single 45 rpm
Genre: Dance
Producer(s) : A) Baker, Harris and Young; B) Vincent Montana Jr.
Mixer/Remixer : Tom Moulton
Side A
Double Exposure - My Love Is Free (9:30)
Side B
Salsoul Orchestra - It Don't have To Be Funky To Be A Groove (7:20)
Here's an oddity on the Salsoul label since it puts two artists on one 12" single. One side contains Double Exposure's classic "My Love Is Free" and the "B" side holds a Salsoul Orchestra track. Vincent Montana Jr. and Baker, Harris and Young worked extensively with one another so there is a connection.

Though I love this song a lot, my preference was for the LP version. Baiscally it track after the middle of the song.

Here you had a 12" disc, that offered the deejay two great DISCO songs. Of course everyone played BOTH songs. They were both PRIME TIME PLAYERS, and always maintained the dance floor. Though neither would be considered a DISCO CLASSIC, no longevity, they did rip a hole on the dance floors in every DISCO in New York City. Both songs get the same number on my scale from 1-10, that is a solid 8.
