MUSIC REVIEW & RECORD COLLECTOR NOTES

This is the baby! The record that goes down in history as being the very first "commercially" released 12 inch single. The 12 inch single had been around for a few years, but offered as limited promotional-only items for Disco DJ's and not the general public.

This Double Exposure single contains two mixes of Ten Per Cent; one by the late Walter Gibbons and spanning over nine minutes, the second by label co-owner Ken Cayre.

As collectible as this record may appear, it is available quite readily and for a few dollars. So much for the marking on the label stating "Limited Edition." This song is also available on CD by clicking here .

TEN PERCENT of something is better then one hundred percent of nothing at all! Those were the repeating lyrics to a DISCO CLASSIC that tore the roof off many a DISCO. Those drums, they keep coming and coming, waiting for everyone to get on the dance floor. There was plenty of time, this 12' version was longer then the 7" version we had been playing, so everyone enjoyed it more. There was SOUL to this song, it came through loud and clear. No-one could stand still to the driving DISCO beat, eventually you had to dance. DOUBLE EXPOSURE had a number 1 song for months. I always thought that this group was just getting started, and would continue to give us great music for years to come. Unfortunately it was just this one record that was great. Though not a one-hit-wonder, they did have other danceable releases, never did they score BIG again. An easy song to rate on my scale from 1-10, it gets a TEN!!
