"The Dominatrix Sleeps Tonight" by Dominatrix is a New York favorite on Streetwise Records, which was played alongside New Order's "Confusion" and other goodies of the time. It's essentially Claudia Summers speaking (not singing) how "women beat their men..." over a sparse electronic beat.
The video was banned by MTV in 1984, which should come as no surprise.
The Dominatrix" was produced by DJ Ivan Ivan who was pretty active in New York circles during the mid 1980s.

Nov 05, 2005 | 1:40 amWomen beat their men and men beat on their drum; The Dominatrix Sleeps Tonight!
One of my favorites!
It'll jam @ any party!

HA HA HA, this is a cult classic, few people ever heard this, let alone play it. I still own a copy, but it has been twenty years since I actually played it. I can't tell you much, except that GEORGE KRANTZ used part of it in his famous DISCO CLASSIC "DIN DA DA". On my scale from 1-10 I have to give it a TEN because it is so strange a song, and such a collector's item.
