YOUR REVIEWS & COMMENTS

All the tracks on the LP were great and got club play. Prelude also pressed this LP as 2 special 12" DJ copy which had excellent stereophonics and electronics.

Among the 10 best disco LP's ever, for my money, although the descent of the hit "Sentimentally It's You" on Bernie's DJ charts over the years suggests the rest of the world disagrees!

I still say Theo's nervous, lightning-quick "gin tenor" was an archetypal male disco voice to match Teddy, Luther, or anyone Baker-Harris-Young ever produced.

Vaness, who hailed from a 1960's Dutch rock band called The Shoes, was compared in his disco incarnation to Sylvester and Leo Sayer. The first comparison does a disservice to all, and as for the second...well, Theo was a far better singer than Leo.

The material on this album soars. "As Long As Its Love" sounds corny on paper, but in 1979 its overtly pro-gay/lesbian/black/white lyrics were very daring. "No Romance/Keep on Dancing" is a simmering, syncopated rhythm record for skilled Hustlers and ballroom dancers only.

"Sentimentally It's You" famously lived up to its title -- imagine, in this day of interesting but sometimes emotionless house and techno, a record that reduced dancers to tears of joy, while working the floor to pieces with its vampy guitars and sequenced synthesizer arrangement.

The title cut, "Bad, Bad, Boy," is more conventional disco that cuts loose at the end, with Theo screaming, shouting and scatting all over the place. The album closer, "Love Me Now," is a wistful semi-ballad, another showcase for his volatile vocals.

Of all disco LPs that have never made it to CD - even Tantra's Double Album -- I prefer this.

This needs to be available on CD. It's a classic album with no bad tracks to be found.

This is very good! I didn't knew Theo Vaness sound, but now I'm a entusiast!
'No Objection' from other Theo album makes me chilled.

Thanks so much for posting that link. Must say that Theo and his disco dollies, even in a pre-MTV clip, be kinda' static given such an exciting song arrangement. Then again, wasn't it always up to us dancers to complete the artistry on the disco floor?
