MUSIC REVIEW & RECORD COLLECTOR NOTES
Manu Dibango, an African jazz saxophonist, scored a huge hit worldwide with "Soul Makossa." There was no escaping this in 1973-it was everywhere and how I remember. An out and out classic by Manu Dibango.

Nov 05, 2005 | 1:55 amHmmm.... I've this album!
New Bell was a classic re-worked by M.A.W.!

SOUL MAKOOSA was in the battle as the FIRST DISCO SONG, it came out at about the same time as THE TRAMMPS' DISCO CLASSIC, "ZING WENT THE STRINGS OF MY HEART". Very close as to which one came first. Either way you can't lose. This song was everywhere, in House Parties, Dance Halls, Juke Boxes, WBLS(NEW YORK) and in every DISCO in the City and surrounding STATES!! They don't come any bigger then this. A sure fire DISCO CLASSIC, that should go without saying! And the TEN it gets as well!!
