NOTES:

Barrabas was a group that hailed from Spain and is an interesting hybrid of Santana-esque rock with funk and jazz thrown in to create some unique and gritty early Disco sounds.

Barrabas is best known for their often sampled tracks "Woman" and "Hijack." On this self titled album the main standouts are "Woman" and "Wild Safari." The entire Barrabas album is solid and very much recommended especially if you are trying to get at the early roots of Disco music.

Listen to Barrabas' other works on Atlantic Records. This particular Barrabas LP pressing is the US RCA edition with the orange cover. There is also an edition from RCA in Puerto Rico with a black cover and slightly different song times.

YOUR REVIEWS & COMMENTS ON Barrabas

I must be the oldest deejay that uses this site. Not one comment from the old-timers about Barrabas?? You would get your arms chopped off in some parts of the world for such un-excusable behavior. Like Bernie said above, there were a lot of tracks played off this album, in fact the only one wasn't played was "Chicco'. All the rest were played, some like the true DISCO CLASSICS "WOMAN" and "WILD SAFARI" were a nightly event!!! On my scale from 1-10, it gets an easy 10.
