NOTES:

A white label promo 12" of Rick Dee's "Disco Duck"-the dumbest song ever! This is the garbage that gave Disco a bad rap. Promos came in a black and white title sleeve with his name as Ricky Dees. Thanks to DJMIKEYD for the cover scan.

Over the years I have managed to calm down over this and even laugh about it as I listen to "Disco Duck"-which isn't too often.

Is there anywhere where I can buy disco duck as a single on CD (or maybe a cassette)? If not, where can I get a really cheap copy?

Is the B side of this 12" is the same track or it's the instrumental ?

I have very mixed emotions when it comes to this song. I was at BINGHAMPTON'S FERRY BOAT in Edgewater, New Jersey dancing , when Eddie "The Worm" Rothstein, my friend, plays DISCO DUCK. I start laughing, the dance floor was still full, I was the only one who walked off. When the Quacking started, I couldn't believe the s*** I was hearing. How could THE WORM play this crap. When I question him, he points to the floor. The packed house was Quacking along!!! As the weeks passed, and I saw that I was getting requests for this, I had it, but didn't play it. It sucked!! I wasn't going to do it. It sucked!! as the years passed, I saw the backlash it created towards DISCO. "Disco is crap", "Disco sucks!!" And "they" all pointed to this crap as proof. Now, not only did it suck, but it helped ruin DISCO. It became a laughing stock, and the first of the anti-DISCO movement began. How the f*** anyone could call this s*** a DISCO CLASSIC doesn't understand that this was the beginning of the end. I often wanted to assassinate Rick Dees. My love of DISCO music is intense, this a****** is evil in my eyes. If I see him walking down the street, I'll kick his a**!! I'm serious! But I actually liked the record!!! On my scale from 1-10, it deserves a -0 but gets a 10!!!!!

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you, to this day, I HAVE NEVER PLAYED DISCO DUCK BY RICK DEES!!!!!

I got a record player when I was 10 for my birthday and this was the ONLY record I had for 2 years. I played it and played it until it was pratically ruined. So much for a small town life huh?
