Am I the only one who thinks "Midnight Love Affair" and k.d. Lang's "Constant Craving" are the same song ?
This is, and always has been my very favorite album by any artist. One of the most memorable moments for me was seeing Carol Douglas live Thanksgiving weekend of 1981 at a club called David's in my home town of Denver, CO. I was privileged to be allowed to go up on the stage and give Carol a dozen long-stemmed roses, immediately after which she sang "Doctor's Orders." She went on the premiere her new single, "My Simple Heart," and closed the show with what she announced was her favorite song, the 18 minute extended mix "Midnight Love Affair." She received a standing ovation, after which she came down from the stage and kissed me for having given her the roses. She is, and always will be number one to me. I have always considered myself her biggest fan. And yes, I also noticed the similarity to "Constant Craving" as did an earlier poster.
K.D. LANG just about stole this song. the words are different, but they sure sound alike. What is that old saying,"If it looks like a duck, and sounds like a duck, it must be a DUCK!"--- Anyhow, this is just as big a DISCO CLASSIC as DOCTOR'S ORDERS, only much longer, and better equipped for a deejay to play with it. I personally loved this album, and extensively played side A all the way through, constantly going back to the first cut, MIDNIGHT LOVE AFFAIR. It had a haunting effect to it. A PRIME TIME PLAYER that always, always packed the floor. I bet you could play THIS today, just like it is, and get away with it. On my scale from 1-10 it receives an easy 10.
