Reader Comments on Hazell Dean

Woeful post-disco junk, with tinny arrangements that emphasize the singer's vocal limits.

Of course, there's more to it than that; taske it from one who was there, this big gay disco hit perfectly reflected the AIDS desparation of the time, especially in its lyrics. In short, a distasteful record that probably had to be what it was, when it was.

Yo FREDDYINPTOWN, ease up. Sounds like you had it rough in the eighties. This also goes down as a DISCO CLASSIC, no matter how you feel about those days. It wasn't a solely GAY song, in fact, I would bet that it became a monster record because of all the "straight" clubs that played the heck out of it, including ME!! WOMEN loved this record!! It was the most requested song in its day. A sure fire floor jammer that was often played more than once a night. Don't you remember the mixes with MIQUEL BROWN?? How about the thousands of possibilities to re-mix it. Despite the garbage written above, this is a must have record. On my scale from 1-10 it gets a very easy 10. Take that Freddy!!!!!!!!!!
