The UK electronic outfit, Art of Noise scored their first major success with 1983's "Beatbox" and "Close (to the Edit)." They continued on through the 1980s with the television theme for Max Headrom and collaborations with Tom Jones and Duane Eddy.

Art of Noise - Beat Box [Diversion Two].

The rare, original full length version of aon's international hit from the 1980s "Close to the Edit" before it actually became that track. This was originally put out as a remix of "Beat Box" from their original "Into Battle" EP. the A-side is the more straightforward version, keeping a lot of familiar bits from the original and extending it into 8 and a half minutes, but the B-side took this weird strange turn into the track we all now know and love. the A.O.N. then just shaved a couple seconds off here and there and released it as "Close to the Edit." As best as I can tell, this version was never released on CD, though, you'll have to hunt down the original vinyl pressing for it!
