MUSIC REVIEW & RECORD COLLECTOR NOTES

Ashford & Simpson are Nickolas Ashford and Valerie Simpson and they began their singing and song writing career back in the 1960's with Ray Charles and Motown (Ain't No Mountain High Enough). They also produced and wrote songs for Diana Ross amongst many others.

Ashford and Simpson's 1976 album, "Send It" contains the classy "By Way of Love's Express" and the instrumental of "Bourgie, Bourgie." This is a must have album for Ashford & Simpson fans.

I love the way this couple have stayed together. They are a credit to African-Americans. We are saddened at the lost of a GREAT MAN. Sister Val. Keep on pushing. Yes, He will truly be missed by you and the Family, but GOD knew his pain, suffering and you didn't mind loving him back to health. This was His time. Please know we are Praying for the entire Family. IN HIS PRESENCE, Apostle Tasby (Virginia)

    Hey Music Heads...

I just recently discovered Ashford & Simpson and now I'm hooked. I especially love their disco-leaning tracks.

Did you know Warner Brothers is releasing a tribute disc that features remixes of their hits?

    Cheers,
    Keith Axlerod

I like the vocal versions of 'Bourgie Bourgie', the first by John Davis & The Monster Orchestra and the MARVELLOUS cover by Glady's Knight and The Pips!
